For those who thought Cafe Europe had a sterile atmosphere and needed something else your wish is being granted. That classy euro atmosphere is being replaced with some cheap schlock. Saw them carrying in textured fiberglass panels of the sort used in dive bar and filling station restrooms.

You mean the fiberglass panels that are the standard materials for walk-in coolers and commercial kitchens? They were being brought into a restaurant? The horror.

Haven't you heard? Kitchens are supposed to be like a Disney movie. Only the finest hand carved tropical wood spindles and stone vanity tops will do.

Maybe the fiberglass will be not seen, but the kitchen was left intact when CE left.

No one has ever walked into a kitchen and needed to change it around to fit different equipment into it.

There is still plenty of wood and sheet rock surface left so that it is not loud. Same menu at Opera House in RM and even some of the staff from down there. A little less seating space than Europa due to space needed for walk up order counter. Coffee drinks less expensive than Filling Station across the street should help business. The owners seem a little more savvy about the neighborhood demographics and preferences than the prior tenants.

saw Underdog wine shop is doing a "liquidation sale" at the Union Hill location - all wines 25% off, etc. Is it closing?

Just the Union Hill one - their other location south of the Plaza will remain open.

With Underdog closing, I think the only other retail in the the building that's still open is a supplement store.

Yeah, was wondering about the UH location. We go to the Crestwood one 3x a week so I think it will stay in business. 8)

Supposedly the Crestwood location does 5x the business Union Hill did.

Sad to see Crestwood North come to an end.

Slightly off topic: is Cafe Europa in Crestwood closing? They seem to be trying to kill themselves off slowly with this to-go only setup.

I've heard that the Crestwood location is closing. They are moving to Main St. in the old fires station where Planet Sub used to be. One of the things that was appealing at the old location was the odd, homey feeling. I hope they are able to make the new space more inviting than Planet Sub was.

Dang, I wondered if that was happening. It's in such a sad limbo state right now, with part of the space being a grocery store and the owner's office paperwork spread out on a table in the front corner.
