I feel safer driving on the streets, but I've avoided busy roads. I still wish they'd block off an area and let us go play without worrying about hitting a pedestrian or car.

Go find an empty lot, we have thousands of them.

You might run into Darlene though. I wouldn't risk it.

haha, that's fair. I was talking more about when they launch. Do launch events where they can teach people the rules and let them use them in a controlled area, as opposed to just giving out select trials before dropping 100 in a day. Just not their style.

Curious what will happen on First Friday this week. They better launch some more scooters or they will be all gone by 4 o’clock. Would be a good day for Lime to launch.

Lime and KCMO are at loggerheads over the high fees (which, ironically, were suggested by Bird).

Our fees seem like nothing vs other cities I've seen... Indy was like 10k wasn't it?

I don’t know if that’s such a bad thing. One dominant carrier entrenched with more scooters might make for a better product than several poaching off of each other and flooding the market with scooters.

On a related note, has anyone tried this here with a Bird yet?

Reminds me of that video from years back of a guy who attached caster wheels to a pallet and road down the streetcar tracks somewhere in Europe.

Do they lock even if checked out? I unlocked one but took some time... Like 10 seconds to start moving it... Then when I did the alarm went off. I ended up having to end my ride and checking it out again. I want my 1.15 back! Lol

Sometimes on the app they ask you for things? Did you check that?
If you report it, they should credit you back.

It was strange as it was still checked out on my app... But beeped when I moved it so I tried to scan again and said it was already checked out.
No biggie, just curious.

Looks like they've started morning Nests around Plaza (4*3), Westport (5) and various parts of Midtown (4) today.

"According to the Kansas City Police Department, in the past three months they’ve written six tickets and towed three vehicles along the streetcar line.
As for bike lanes, there’s currently no city ordinance which allows them to enforce it."
The police department has no enforcement over the usage of bike lanes? This seem like a problem.
