The east of Grand section is the alley east of Grand from 3rd to 5th. The air filter company couldn't use their alley for trucks because the city wouldn't/couldn't make the railroad maintain it

centered on 19th, the alley between Grand and Walnut. This one is quite long. Many of the crossroad alleys were built for rail. There might be other segments buried under concrete

West of Wyandotte in the alley parallel to 2nd. It's probably the last remnant of that yard

Indep Ave ends at 5th St just west of Wyandotte. 5th continues onto Beardsley.
Google maps is correct on the name

Has anyone located any discussion here from around the end of 2014 when this RFP came back? I found where we discussed it initially in June of 2014 and Collison wrote an article in the Star. But it seems odd (and unlikely) we never discussed it again, I think I'm just having a hard time with the search.

One of the construction lead sources we use. You have to have a paid account to get more info.

A new brochure for pre-leasing of the Paradigm was released in 2021. Looks like C&W was dropped in favor of Ferguson Properties.

3 oddities: The brochure was uploaded to the Ferguson website in 2021 but claims the project will be completed in 2021. The Loopnet and Ferguson listings are only for the retail space and not the office. The building lost a floor from the last Cushman & Wakefield brochure.

edit: looks like these renderings are old and that perhaps it was introduced at this size and they made bigger at somepoint while Cushman was the broker.

Still a placeholder, yes it should have at least one more floor - pending FAA exemption with F/C it should have a couple more. Office? Hotel? Resi? Trolling for demand.

Council removed funding for the bridge. Wants the transit agencies to cover costs. Sounds like it is delayed to 2022+. No reason the city shouldn't be funding this considering everything else they have said yes to.

Is this some kind of absurd unintended consequence of the impending infrastructure bill?

Ok to punt on things since it will get funded for free later?

They intentionally built the bridge without a sidewalk or any ADA access in 1997 and suddenly it's someone else's responsibility?

This is a consequence of Bunch asking how and why GO bond projects are selected and the subsequent discussion ended up with two projects removed from his district. Smooth move.

To be fair, his point is correct and should be asked of many other projects. We shouldn't be building new bridges and infrastructure with this funding source, rebuild some damn roads! but, of course its hilariously ironic that the 4th district gets its project killed and not some northland project.

The overall ensuing discussion was worth it. It was horrifying to watch how terribly this money has been handled, but hopefully they come up with a damn infrastructure plan sometime before this money is all used up on new projects or roads on the edge of town.

This is why I hate that the stimulus money is just “going in the bank”. If it’s not designated somewhere or returned to the TDD the council obviously sees the district as not needing any help and pulls money designated to the streetcar. Spend it or it’s going to get taken away, as happened in this case. Essentially, the city stole the stimulus money.

Are you talking about the ped/bike bridge to Berkley Park?
