it's not the credit cards that caused your problem, it's not paying your bills. that's the problem.

If you want to get to the root of it, as you seem to wish, the problem was being an irresponsible kid. We all were at some point.

Not to belabor the point (but here goes anyway ;) ), but I honestly don't see what's wrong with choosing not to use credit, regardless of your reasons.  If that's the lesson learned from missteps, why is it a problem?  Whether you're a college kid who effs up and isn't organized or responsible enough to make payments on time, or an adult who gets in over your head on unforeseen emergencies, or something in between, seems to me like choosing not to purchasing things on credit anymore is a perfectly reasonable - and simple -  way to ensure it doesn't happen again.

Okay, back to beer.

^^^ sure, i agree.  i only use my CC for the "rewards" and to have good credit... however, the rewards aren't very rewarding (for my meager spending.    and, i missed a payment (by one day) recently and was charged a 39 dollar late fee... while my balance was only about 150 bucks...  which i paid in full.  always pay the balance each month.  that charge pretty much could have reversed any "reward" i was due.    i was able to get the charge taken off very easily tho.    i wonder if we can pay our mortgages with the checks the CC companies send us?    that may well be worth it.

Some weeks you pay for the glass some weeks you do not.  I think if its an actual brewery you get to keep it, but not sure with Chimay

I was wondering.  I was talking with another forumer who has paid, and I only have two (the Blvd and the Flying Saucer Logo) and neither have I paid for.  Who else has paid/not paid?

I almost got charged 10 for one beer the first week and then she said, oh wait, these were free.

seems misleading to offer, "buy the beer, keep the glass" if I have to purchase the glass.

I had to pay for the Oppenheimer glass, but I don't think I had to pay for the Boulevard glass.

Plus some nice prizes if your glass had a sticker underneath.  One of my friends got a Chimay t-shirt, another got a very nice Chimay wall plaque.  I, of course, got nuthin but the glass.

We went by tonight, but did not go in...I just wasn't feeling the P&L tonight (the vile bitch server who snarled at me the .03 seconds I popped into McFratten's may have been to blame for my mood, however)...I'm trying, though, to expand my personal tolerance/horizons to somewhere beyond just my beloved dives!

We decided we may go there specifically to hit just Flying Saucer this weekend or Monday.

I would recommend monday, pint night.  Most pints are 2.75.  I'm sitting at the bar right now enjoying a traquair house ale.  Jen and Sarah say hi to all the forumers.

Sorry I've been working too much and not posting.  37 after tonight though...

Is this the photo that you're referring to?  You must have been talking to Sarah.  I was actually pretty underwelmed by the keg fridge.  Just expecting more.
