A good frame of reference I found to note that the pic was real is the bare concrete floor, as well as the presence of noise (especially in the second pic).

I put my ear to the monitor but I didn't hear anything.

Hey, can you guys give me an update on the PAC?  Is it complete on the outside?  Landscaping, lighting etc?  Are they turning on the lights at night?  Is the glass portion facing the south complete and cleaned up or is it still in a noticeable state of construction?  When you look into the hall through the glass, is it also still pretty rough?  I know it opens in sept, but I might fly out in the next couple of weeks just to get photos of the pac and new photos of downtown with the pac in it.  I can't really wait till september as I have many clients that would like to have photos by then (2012 calendars etc).

Thanks in advance!

This doesn't answer your question at all but: today they were paving Wyandotte and I realized I have never lived in KC when Wyandotte was open as a through street. It will somewhat change the entire way I navigate through that area. Also, the cranes are down and a lot of landscaping is in...still plenty of dirt though (I think).

GRID -

They are moving along pretty quickly, I think (I live in Chicago).

They have a photo stream on Flickr - http://www.flickr.com/photos/kauffmance ... 931624486/ and webcam  - http://www.p-tn.net/progresscam/KCPACNW/archivepics.asp

The theaters are essentially done, except the HUGE undertaking of building the organ.
Looking at the pictures, it seems like the biggest landscaping project is the green roof on the garage and landscaping the SE corner of the property.

Thanks for the update.  So maybe I will wait as long as I can.  It looks awesome now.  It will be amazing when they actually have the lighting on, glass cleaned etc.

Haters gonna hate! :)
I was first wondering what you were talking about as the article seemed pretty neutral and simply explained the concepts.
Then I saw the comments.
Wow... just... wow...

Starlight, Kauffman Center in partnership to bring children's theater downtown
Starlight Theatre has formed a partnership with the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts to bring children's theater to the new downtown venue starting in spring 2012.

sounds like a good partnership to bring some more elaborate children's theatre/musicals downtown.  i was worried about the coterie, but it sounds like this is a bit different angle.

I snapped a few pics of the PAC last weekend, thought I'd share.  I've started to worry a little bit about the parking garage and it's large, obvious wall on the southern side of the complex, but I do have to admit that there is decent pedestrian access around the site via large staircases that open up to the street on three sides.  This will be stunning addition to the region's cultural scene, no doubt...

Beautiful pics! And you had a beautiful day in which to take them. Thank you for posting!

They could easily build an infill building here in the future.  I'm thinking a small, well designed restaurant or cafe
