it makes since they also wouldn't want to deal with something that could get them sued.aknowledgeableperson wrote:Lice.
buy a helmet, fall, hurt ones head, blame the used helmet and sue the shop who sold it.

Nobody wants to share helmets.... Do they? I just hate carrying mine.

Re: KC Bike share
Definitely don't see much intermingling of bikes between downtown and the plaza...some pretty tough geography and not great bike friendly routes.
Was hoping a few more downtown stations would be added prior to expansion but glad to see them growing.

Re: KC Bike share
Can use MAX between sites with bike rack. Also, if you MAX from downtown to midtown w/out bike, you can now pickup bike in midtown. This will especially be good for Westport from 39th MAX stop, which is a bit of a walk. I would hope 39th MAX stop gets a station.
This is great news. I was wondering if it would still be operating next year.

Just wondering, why did you think it wouldn't be operating next year?

Re: KC Bike share
they need to plug in some of the holes.
for me
the closest station to work is 10th/main
the closest station to Consentino's is 10th/main
my wife could use it to get from her work to my work.
but the closest station to me is 2 blocks away. the closest station to her is 2 blocks away.
the walk is 4 blocks total otherwise.
that's the kind of situation I always run into when I even consider using the system. and as a premium service they need to make it easier for more situations

Re: KC Bike share
I think if only one station could be added downtown I'd add it at Cosentino's. As has been said before, Cosentino's is basically the hub of downtown IMO, and I think a station there would instantly be the busiest one in the system.

Consentino's and W side of River Market (on DE) need stations but otherwise it's time to expand to midtown/Plaza.

Re: KC Bike share
if you're asking for more stations, here's how you can help make that happen:
- buy an annual b-cycle membership
- donate to bikewalkKC (tax-deductible)
i've done both. the number of stations is directly proportional to the local funding they've received.

Totally agree with these two wishes. Those are exactly the two I would love to see as well.earthling wrote:Consentino's and W side of River Market (on DE) need stations but otherwise it's time to expand to midtown/Plaza.

Re: KC Bike share
Delaware would be my second choice after Cosentino's. Perhaps where the new streetcar station is likely to go?earthling wrote:Consentino's and W side of River Market (on DE) need stations but otherwise it's time to expand to midtown/Plaza.
