All eight episodes of The Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning on the streaming platform, the Peacock Network, are filmed in the Kansas City metro and are now being aired on the Bravo Network on cable on Thursday nights.

An interesting video about KC and a reminder of the true boom years of the city in the 1920's and 1930's.

The Devil Comes to Kansas City premiers in a little more than a month. Product of locally raised producer/director Michael Blevins, who seems to be making some waves in Hollywood for a young guy. His last major picture released was Digging to Death. It's on Tubi and some other platforms. I watched it, pretty enjoyable. Looking forward to seeing this one for sure. Has some great KC shots, and I believe was mostly filmed here in KC in the last year or so? Blevins also has a film on the way set in Winterset Iowa (Madison County). Definitely looking forward to seeing that one too. Good to see KC people succeeding in Hollywood. Lets keep our fingers crossed for more KC features!

I couldn't figure out why he kept calling it the "Old-World Plains" then I realized he had a bunch of conspiracy theories about alternate history and who was "really here" before the Europeans.

Yes, Shinatoo, it's a strange video.

Its weirder than Mormon pre-Columbian America. Its like some MAGA conspiracy nonsense. It's one thing to have fun with the pre-documented and lack of archaeological evidented history before 4000 BCE(Atlantis, ancient aliens), but to make up some alternate history of the documented recent world is WTF. Also somebody in comments from KC states Pendergast was mayor and limestone claddings of 'thirties buildings are concrete.

Just Google "Tartaria" if you want your head to explode. Ahistoric antiscience sorts white supremacist nonsense. Would not doubt if Russians have something to do with spreading this.

The western auto sign without the “T” lit was shown on TV. Embarrassing

Wes Ern Auto sounds like something Chris Farley worked for in a 90's comedy

I just realized that "The Devil Comes to Kansas City" is actually having its red carpet premier here in KC tomorrow. Apparently at B&B's flagship theater in Liberty. Tickets are free. I was told because the official theatrical release is Saturday, the 21st, and they can't make profits off the red carpet event. I just booked two tickets! There's only two showings tomorrow and a few seats left. Go sign up before it's too late!

Worth noting, the "Western Auto" sign is fully lit in the films trailer.

Excellent shots of KC! Lots of showing off the skyline from the riverfront at the 27 minute mark. The Western Auto skyline shot at 13:40 is just beautiful.

It looks like most of the movie was shot in KC. Fun to guess the locations as they make their appearances. Grinders makes a surprise showing! I love the scenes there.. super unique!

I didn't particularly love the movie; the writing, acting, and directing are all pretty uneven. Dude has one army friend who lives in the city who is Robert Johnson reincarnated or something and just so happens to be in the parking lot where his wife was shot etc? Like, huh? But there are some really cool shots of the city!

No Western Auto on MNF yet, but some aerial nice shots from the north side of Downtown.
