I think its awesome to get this line going but honestly i never see myself riding it.  Tell me what I am missing and why I should ride the green line.

Great access to UMKC/Rockhurst and the new soccer stadium at Bannister, oh wait...

Don't get me wrong I think it will be used maybe more than the main st Max but as someone who doesn't live down that corridor or need to hit umkc or rockhurst not sure I will ever use it.

Well, it's not a ride at Worlds of Fun.  There isn't any reason to ride it if you're not going in the direction.

Why say huh if you agree with me?

because Troost #25 already has almost double the riders of Main St MAX as is. my "huh?" comment was directed towards your "maybe" comment. adding a MAX line with newer buses will probably mean a lot more riders which is a huge win for KC. now we need to plan MAX lines on Ind Ave. and Prospect.

Metro No.25 Troost  7,835.31
Metro No. 58 MAX  3,999.98

a high percentage of troost riders board at transfer points, which is where many max stops are located.  boardings between such stops are less frequent.  encouraging people to walk an extra block to a max stop -- e.g. to 39th instead of a local stop at 38th or 40th -- makes for more efficient transit operation and better transit service for most riders.

That makes sense. I wonder how much the Troost MAX will affect the Main St MAX, being that it may intercept transfering riders who otherwise may have done so at Main.

i think it's quite likely that troost max will draw some riders from both main street max and prospect.  likewise, i think part of the initial boost in ridership on main street max was due to the fact that max looked attractive in comparison to the old troost route.

incidentally, an ata insider says on-time performance for the first week of troost max is 95 percent.

Troost MAX bus route is off to a good start
Huffer said the ATA has 60 more trips a day now on that corridor than prior to Troost MAX.

kcata and gsa will dedicate the 95th and troost park and ride lot on tuesday, april 12, at 10 am.

in the event of federal government shutdown, a cardboard cutout of john boehner will reportedly sub for the gsa representative.

I'd like to give a shout-out for the infrastructure improvements and public art the new MAX line brought to Troost. It really looks sharp. We need to roll out MAX lines on Prospect and Ind Avenue in the next 5 years as well.

When it reaches the end of its "useful life", which should be opening day + 10-12 years. I guess that's coming up soon!
10 years this year! Is something in the works already? Would it require a second federal grant?
Without dedicated lanes, there's won't be any "state of good repair" money like there is on Main MAX so it would have to be a new grant. There might be a new station at Truman Med (it's designed, but not funded).

What TMAX upgrades would you like to see?
