From Chipotle's site, Oct 13th, 2006 - Chipotle, McDonald's complete separation

I don't know much about financial matters, but I assume Chipotle was only ever part of McDonald's to use their money for expansion.

STL Bread Co (Panera), Hooter's, and some sort of bar are all also at the base of the structure. Here is the thread for anybody who isn't familiar with SSP: http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?t=128623

Point is, prominent storefronts on the street are great, as opposed to the City Center Square situation.
I guess it does beat out our valentine shopping center.

McDonald's was a major shareholder, but Chipotle was never a wholly-owned subsidiary. McDonald's divested entirely last year though, presumably to cut loose some liquid funds.

The company is still around the only reason it left KC was because Tony Gonzalez pulled out his funding for it.

Sweet.

Is KC Live the "U" shaped building in between H&R and the Sprint Center?

Now imagine what it will look like with a 35 story Hotel/Condo in that pit behind H&R Block!  I can't wait two years!

It will definitely add some depth to the skyline. Unlike the H&R building, this building will make a noticeable change to the skyline from a distance.

It wouldn't make too much of a difference though since it'd be buried between the Town Pavilion, 1KCP, 1201 Walnut, and H&R Block. But it is still a great addition.
