I got some in a variety pack I recently purchased.  Tasted very good, as always.

Boulevard making inroads into St. Louis beer market
In the year since InBev, a Belgian-based brewing company, bought Anheuser-Busch, Boulevard has not only gained bragging rights as Missouri?s largest home-based brewery but has seen its grocery sales increase 26 percent in the St. Louis market.

I hope the inroads are not for the reasons stated; e.g.,  because AB is no longer a St Louis company.  It could have something to do with the fact that Boulevard has long made a superior product to anything mass produced by AB.  Had the company HQ's been reversed and Boulevard was in St Louis and AB in KC, I'd still be drinking Boulevard.

Boulevard's Boss Tom Golden Bock coming in April
?First introduced in 2008, Boulevard Maibock is a new, limited-release seasonal brew. A welcome sign of Spring, this beer is a traditional German lager, lighter in color than other bocks. Boulevard?s Maibock is a distinctive, refreshing take on this springtime classic.

SENSORY DESCRIPTION: Medium golden color; caramel and malty with a light bitterness to balance the toasted malty flavors. The finish is crisp and refreshing.

PAIRINGS: Malty sweetness pairs very well with spicy Asian foods, bratwurst, Swiss cheese or white chocolate cheesecake?

Interesting map at this site.

The map (below) shows the parts of America where bars outnumber grocery stores (red dots) and vice versa (yellow dots). Note where the map is rosiest:

According to the map, Missouri is not part of the Beer Belly of America

Rank    State            Bars per 10,000 Population
1      North Dakota                6.54
2      Montana                      6.34
3      Wisconsin                    5.88
4      South Dakota                4.73
5      Iowa                            3.73
6      Nebraska                      3.68
7      Wyoming                      3.4

Interesting map.

You can get a beer belly from beer purchased by the case at the local grocery store too.

Agreed.

But Iowa just changed their laws to allow 15% ABV in beers crafted by micro-brewers. Can't wait to try them, one pint will be enough for me!

I had one last night.  It was a decent stout.  Rather non-descript in my opinion, but tasty.

I'll have to pick some up.  I've felt that their Dry Stout was one of the only unremarkable beers Blvd has done (Zon).  But with the level of quality they've been cranking out lately, I'm excited to try this one!

The Dry Stout really shines on tap - not as much in a bottle.  Unfortunately it is only on a relatively limited # of taps.

I have a bottle of the new stuff at home waiting for the right occassion to uncork.

Yeah, my impression of The Dark Truth was a nondescript imperial stout (it's around 9% if I remember right).  Tasty for sure, but nothing to distinguish it from, say, an Old Rasputin.
