And I assume neither parcel viewer (city, county) has caught up with the current situation?KCDowntown wrote:The permits aren't granular enough to provide addresses for each building. 701 E 4th, which is 4th & Holmes, is mentioned as a temporary address for the whole project.

the parcel viewer always runs behind. but it doesn't always show unit addresses. Quality Hill Condos are still largely single parcels decades later

Just stumbled on these renderings (posted on Prairie Fire Development's Facebook page in March, so I'm assuming they are updated renderings. Not super thrilled about this project, the renderings look nice, but so much parking...

Sure, there may be a block or two that is walkable, but if the site plans that were posted a few months ago are correct, you'll have to walk by loads of parking just to get to that walkable island.flyingember wrote:that looks like Northgate Village and the surrounding area in NKC

I don't know why they are bothering to include retail spaces. There won't be enough population density to support them. There are already former retail spaces in Columbus Park sitting empty.

Probably a better place to put this, but had the chicken dinner at the North End. How have I not heard about this before? Unhealthy perfection and the people watching is fantastic. I would like to become a regular.

are they sitting empty because of lack of demand or because of other reasons?FangKC wrote:I don't know why they are bothering to include retail spaces. There won't be enough population density to support them. There are already former retail spaces in Columbus Park sitting empty.
they could be overpriced, poorly placed, not well maintained, too small for demand, too big for demand, not zoned for the demand and changes shot down by NIMBY, etc

I go there for lunch quite a bit - but have been wanting to try the fried chicken (Saturday nights only?). I'm going to do that this weekend.

They start serving it at 4. The place was full, partly because the Royals ran long, and partly because no one could hang on the patio.

Developers finally break ground on Columbus Park lofts
http://tinyurl.com/q5yec3sConstruction of the CP Lofts, the $19.5 million first phase of a $70 million redevelopment project in the Columbus Park neighborhood, is finally getting underway.
The developers of the 108-unit, five-building apartment project scheduled an 11 a.m. Monday groundbreaking ceremony at the development site on the east side of Holmes Road between Third and Fifth streets.

Dinner at the North End and drinks at the Caddyshack. As we were driving back through town, someone said that the next 10 years were going to be KC's next golden age. Those two places seem pretty golden already.
Edit: whiskey was consumed.
