I had a disastrous trip from Chicago to St. Louis. Bus was an hour late after flat tire...then broke down en route for another hour.

I've rode Megabus twice and both trips were disastrous. Never again. Megabus is for those who cannot afford another mode of transport. If you can, stay away. It's a good idea but poor execution.

KC-bound MegaBus crashes into I-55 overpass in Illinois. At least 1 killed, 25 injured.

Thought it was odd that that the 'station' was essentially just an open aired curb in River Market. Or did they move it. That location maybe discouraged some from using again - other than reliability issues.

they moved it to the curb more at the MAX stop during construction
I always thought the location was a joke

i've ridden megabus in several cities. boarding locations are always curbside, even though they may be adjacent to nicer digs (a "union station" stop, as in chicago, is actually around the corner from anything resembling union station).

worth noting that their original stop here was at 10th and main, but were forced to move to 3rd and grand after interfering with kcata operations.

Megabus ridership must be generally low in Kansas City, I figured they would have made kc a mini hub and added places around us like Omaha, Des Moines, Little Rock and even a Route to Dallas with maybe stops in OKC or Tulsa, Even Minneapolis is closer than Chicago and would be a decent route

Hopefully a few lives are saved by MegaBus leaving.

I recently tried to take Grayhound to Wichita. Their website failed to charge my card properly three times, preventing me from buying a ticket. I contacted their support by email about it and only got a response back 3 weeks later, long after I needed my ticket. Greyhound definitely has its problems.

I don't know that I have seen a fireball engulf a Greyhound bus...

That's probably true, but they offer a pretty significant online only discount that I was trying to take advantage of.
