...Did they say the NCAA had "awarded a Final Four to Kansas City"?
I heard "the NCAA would welcome a bid from Kansas City" if the renovations pass.
I'm not trying to start a pissing match! ...But I was expecting something more concrete then what the guy said. This was the first time I heard anything about the announcement, so I'm still just getting the news.

The best I can find is that Miles Brand will "endorse" having it in Kansas City. Sounds sketchy so far.

What I fear most now is the renovations get approved and no roof. That would be the worst of both worlds now. The renovations become more palatable with me with a roof, but with no roof, they are ridiculous.KCPowercat wrote: I agree

They're starting to run out of events to promise the voters.

2015 Spelling Bee
Has anyone read anything that says we WILL get the Final Four? The only thing I have read is that we will be considered.

They haven't promised anything. They said that they will consider a bid from Kansas City, in the event that we get a roof for Arrowhead.

What happens after these events have come and gone? Does anyone really have a different opinion of Detroit now? Is Detroit in any better shape financially than it was before? After these events our "beloved" TSC (ver 1.2) will be sitting at 45+ years old. Then do we build new? Maybe try and lure all 3 of these events again?

Has anyone seen anything tangible yet beyond the indication that Brand will "endorse" giving it to KC? That doesn't sound very frim to me.

Yeah runnig out of major events to hold in these venues is a horrible problem. They would have been much better off to not have any events at all. Or better yet just threaten to move if the questions pass.49r wrote: They're starting to run out of events to promise the voters.

810 says we're able to BID on it now. "Arrowhead would be a welcome contender" for a Final Four.
It's a fake carrot! They've run out of real carrots and are using fake ones now! Woo hoo!

if you go to channel 9s website, they are reporting that kc would be "well positioned" according to Mayor Barnes and would likely host in 2013.

I'm not saying it won't happen. But as of today, I don't think it's set in stone.

I think that the greatest benefit to hosting these big events is that all the preparation to be ready to host improves the city, so that the residents can enjoy those improvements for many years afterward.MidWestSider wrote: What happens after these events have come and gone? What a let down for supporters. "Well positioned?" We knew that already, this is nothing new. They may see the roof in reality and decide it sucks ass and aren't interested.

Re: Official: Arrowhead Final Four Speculation
The press conference makes it sound like the roof has been thrown together at the last second and they have no idea on the specifics. I have a feeling if it passes we're going to have many problems associated with the technical aspects of it.

Its officially BS. The star just ran their press conference story. Brand just says we are a contender.
