The other day on the webcam I saw a concrete truck pumping into the hole so we might be seeing some garage work done soon.

At least we saw how fast an undergrond garage can be thrown up...and with no siginficant structures to build on top, it shouldn't be too long before this block starts to take shape.

Today they put the parts down into the pit for a crane. I may be swinging by there today to take some pictures. It just depends, I need to start my christmas shopping...

Is the whole block suppose to have underground parking? Or will half of the block be underground parking. The way the footings are it looks like only half of the block will have it.

If not, the south half will have a very very very deep basement.

Better look again, its at least 30 feet down, on south of elevator core.  You may be looking at block to the south across closed dirt camouflaged 14th?

Yeah, the entire block from 13th to 14th, Grand to Walnut, is a big hole.  14th to Truman is at ground level.

They will probably build the north portion of the garage and then use it's ramps to truck out the rock that they'll later remove from the south side. Otherwise, with the current ramp removed, they would dig themselves into a corner with no (easy) way to get rid of the excess material. I think they did the same with the H&R Block garage.

Or will it actually be a half-block garage?

Hmmm...  from my angle, through binoculars, it looks like that elevator core is right against the southern edge of the pit.  The webcam currently has too much glare for me to see on there so I'll have to look another time.
