Push is on to remodel baseball legend Satchel Paige's Kansas City home
...
Two years ago, the city received a $150,000 grant from the National Trust for Historic Preservation to remodel and stabilize the structure. The home now has a new roof. The city just finished up request proposals as to what to do next with the historic home and they are expecting to announce that plan later this month.

If the home becomes a museum, should it stay where it is now, or should it be moved somewhere else like the 18th and Vine District, or perhaps the Monarch Manor subdivision where Municipal Stadium used to be? I wonder if the 28th Street location would be too isolated to draw visitors in enough numbers to support a museum. I also wonder how neighbors would feel about visitors parking on their street all the time.

Possible 18th and Vine site behind the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum. There is an obvious connection here and likely the same people who would visit the NLBM would visit the Paige home.

Possible Monarch Manor site. This site also has a historical connection, but would also be a bit isolated from other things. Neighbors might resent visitor street parking.
