Ah, good catch. Never a good idea to make a post when one is half asleep. But on the Missouri side, maybe a psychic is what KCMO needs to help with their pothole issues...flyingember wrote: ↑Tue Apr 06, 2021 1:27 pmDon't generally need psychics for road projectsmistervinix wrote: ↑Mon Apr 05, 2021 4:59 pm Full details. Re: Quiktrip
An employee told me today that the current QT at Roe and 435 will stay open, even after the new one is finished just around the corner at Nall and 107th. In fact, they are about to remodel the Roe store (not enlarge it). The employee said in Independence there are QTs on opposite sides of a highway exit. Guess they know what they're doing, as the places always are busy.

Re: Quiktrip
I'll be curious to see if they keep that promise. They said the same thing about the store at 67th and Nieman in Shawnee when the new QT was being built on Shawnee Mission Parkway. Then they closed the Nieman Road QT a couple weeks after the SM Pkwy. location opened.mistervinix wrote: ↑Sun Apr 18, 2021 4:34 pm An employee told me today that the current QT at Roe and 435 will stay open, even after the new one is finished just around the corner at Nall and 107th. They won’t. It’s one of those “we’ll keep it open if it keeps bringing in the same amount of money” tricks. New store around the corner will take the business and they’ll close it.

Re: Quiktrip
The raised median blocking left turns from Roe for people exiting 435 is likely why they're moving. It limits the number of customers.longviewmo wrote: ↑Mon Apr 19, 2021 9:09 amSani wrote: ↑Mon Apr 19, 2021 8:29 amI'll be curious to see if they keep that promise. Re: Quiktrip
It has its own stoplight so I doubt that's the reason. That store is extremely busy, as is the Freddy's next door. But the lot size of the current QT location precluded them from building a larger store; hence the one being built next to Top Golf. And it's unlikely they would sink money in a remodel if they just plan on closing it in six months. Now, they may be wrong and the new one will significantly cut into the old one's business.flyingember wrote: ↑Mon Apr 19, 2021 9:57 amThe raised median blocking left turns from Roe for people exiting 435 is likely why they're moving. Re: Quiktrip
Talked to some folks at the other 87th street QT and they think the new one will open in early August. That seems plausible from the current progress on the site.
