Misc Crossroads News
Re: Misc Crossroads News
Damn, I always thought that would be a great spot for a small grocer. Oh well.
Re: Misc Crossroads News
I'm surprised that's not within the icy clutches of Brad Nichols's veto power. I assumed he was the main reason all the other brewing operations are east of Oak.

Re: Misc Crossroads News
He impacted a few of the existing east xroads licenses....I think the change was city council changing the rules on who had to give consent if I'm remembering right
Re: Misc Crossroads News
The breweries don't seem to be the type of businesses he seemed concerned about, nightclubby, loud music, 3 am hours.
Re: Misc Crossroads News
He had beef with Toms Town serving wine and Sundry selling packaged beer as a grocery though. Something must have changed because Sundry has a bar now.grovester wrote:The breweries don't seem to be the type of businesses he seemed concerned about, nightclubby, loud music, 3 am hours.

Re: Misc Crossroads News
Well sundry doesn't exist.
I know a couple of the breweries were harassed about hours and what they would sell.

Doh. I didn’t realize that they closed. Well, they did have a bar for a little while.KCPowercat wrote:Well sundry doesn't exist.
Re: Misc Crossroads News
Sundry had a bar in the Crossroads under their previous license. Their restriction — necessary in order to get consents — was to limit the shelf space for package sales.
The breweries clustering in east Crossroads has more to do with cost than liquor. Tom’s Town ran into problems because they bought a building from Brad and made some claims that changed once they went through the license process. That place is good, but their focus on distilling is quite different than, say, Lifted Spirits.

1700 Locust (office conversion)
Finished building on the SW corner of 17th and Locus. One of the retail slots is a dance studio.

Workers are finishing up the last details of the renovation of the building on the NE corner of 17th and Locust.
And just to the north of that building is this recently finished building.
