Just curious. Any one here think local KC owners would be willing to put up $500,000,000 for an expansion NHL team?

The latest found on Wiki:
"Kansas City sports investor Lamar Hunt Jr., whose father Lamar Sr. was an early investor in what became the Columbus Blue Jackets and whose family owns numerous sports properties, including the NFL's Chiefs, Major League Soccer's FC Dallas and the Mavericks, called the NHL's $500 million price tag for an expansion franchise "a ridiculously big fee," and said that he is not aware of anyone in Kansas City who will make a push for a team. Neither he nor Cliff Illig, co-owner of MLS's Sporting Kansas City, have any intention of bidding in the NHL expansion window, and AEG is considered to be more focused on efforts to bring the NHL to Las Vegas than they are on Kansas City. It should also be noted that Silver's 2013 analysis estimated that the Kansas City area had only about 75,000 avid hockey fans, fewer than in any other market seriously considered for an NHL franchise in the 21st century."

Concerning NBA expansion here is an interesting article on the topic.
https://www.sbnation.com/nba/2017/8/9/1 ... -next-step
"Expansion is coming to the NBA. It may take another decade, but the league adding another team or two is “inevitable,” Adam Silver said recently. There’s too much money in the game, and too much success overall, for the current 30-team alignment to remain unaltered."
and
"it sounds like the NBA would prefer to put two more teams in the West while moving the Memphis Grizzlies to the East. This would help balance the two conferences, to an extent."
Of course the article mentions the possible expansion fee may be $1,000,000,000, or more. Any potential local owners have the deep pockets for that amount?

How does KC Heat or Magic because could have got them during Penny Hardaway days or Panthers or Lighting just in case one of them has to relocate because of Hurricane Irna.

Looks like Seattle has a $650M plan to rehab the Key Center to attract either a NBA or a NHL team. I think it is to be ready by 2020.

Thinking positive, if KC was to ever gain a team, it would be a lot easier as part of a bigger expansion into multiple cities.

It would before Seattle does because don't have to redo Sprint Center.

How old is the Sprint Center? May not have to redo all of the place but having a team would require some sort of expenditure to bring the facility up-to-date. Plus a practice facility among other things.
