Big fan of the design and 1914 Main. Hoping ground level is more pleasing than a solid wall, but there isn't a ground floor in the building right now.

1914 Main will be the first of the new construction buildings to be redone. I give it 10 years before the aluminum siding comes off.

It's easier to chance siding than to add an active street level to a parking pedestal. :)

thats a good thing. It means the building can change looks without a huge expense to do so.
And it's not much of a prediction, a changing look is a given on many buildings. Look at how many buildings downtown have been refaced over the years and right now original is popular. Give it 15 years and places might be covering exposed brick again in retail spaces.

Look at the Plaza and how the exterior of shops is always changing. Above = Spanish, below = current retail design trend

If in 10 years wood is in style everything can be faced with it since behind the metal is a waterproof layer. The balconies can get new barriers in metal at the same time since they're structurally separate from the base

Great, more gray vynol siding that looks like it's been through a hail storm!

I just don't understand why they would use that material if you can't get it so there aren't seams like 70s vynol. Or, get creative like the prefab on Main and piece together in a way that looks like it was meant to be that way.
