Not local music but Pollstar shows a lot of tours coming to KC/Lawrence market this summer, at the moment more than some markets larger than KC - STL, Tampa, Orlando, Charlotte, Pittsburgh, Cincy.

You have no idea how much I hate to see you include Charlotte in a list of markets larger than KC, even if it's true.

Being big in the sunbelt is like being tall in Japan.

Question about Blind Tiger. Is the live music held in the basement?

Does anyone know of places doing regular open mics? Asking for a friend who'll be in town 6/10-6/18 and is bringing an acoustic.

I'd start with Westport Saloon and Uptown Arts Bar - I think they both do some sort of open jam/open mic type of things. I think Knuckleheads on Saturday afternoons as well.

The Tank Room, next to the Green Lady Lounge, has an open mic night every Thursday.

Thanks for recs.

Random question: A show I wanted to see at Blind Tiger has been moved to Kum N Go since BT didn't have a live music license. Is this the house at 42nd & Troost? Anyone know actual address and any specifics? BYOB, etc... Thanks!

more info:

starts at 8pm, grill out before starts at 5pm. I will be smoking brisket all day and my room mates will be making vegan treats.

My band Lil Toughies opens, followed by Drugs and Attics, then A Giant Dog and then Wet Ones to finish up.

bring $5 for the band and maybe some money to buy merch stuffs. A Giant Dog is amazing my favorite band and I'm really excited a ragger is interested in this show.
