Who would have thought the post of the year would have been so early on in 2014? I can see him both drooling with envy and indignationmgsports wrote:Where did you get that picture?

If this ever ends up having anything more than a Walmart, count it a rousing success. Unbelievable how this has devolved.

Instead of trying to find a tenant willing to live on the second floor, he should make Walmart and the new tentant both be 2 story.

Seems like when the Walmart was first proposed here there was a lot of "excitement" about it being a 2-story "urban" Walmart. Uh-huh, uh NO.grovester wrote:http://www.kshb.com/news/local-news/mis ... more-money

And you can bet if he is now not confirming the apartments, then they will likely never be built. Mission is no doubt sorry they ever got involved with this boondoggle.

I'd imagine he would like Mission to try and back out so he can get some lawsuit money.

there's one thing that I bet can be counted on from this project.
Valenti is going to have a hard time doing a big centerpiece project like this for any town in the KC area in the future.

He's an East Coast developer from NY. I imagine he would be glad to wash his hands of KC at this point too!flyingember wrote:there's one thing that I bet can be counted on from this project.

Senior living apartments are planned for the Mission Crossing development
When they break ground, they actually mean it!A $15 million senior living apartment project is scheduled to break ground next week at the Mission Crossing development off Metcalf Avenue in Mission. Lane4 Property Group is teaming with Welcov Healthcare and Tetrad Corp. to develop the three-story, 101-unit apartment project called The Welstone. It is expected to open in early 2015.

Re: Downtown Mission/ The Gateway
Lane4 is a good standard non-nonsense KC development group for sure. this is the perfect coordinating project. it's right next door to a Target store and down the street from a Hy-Vee. it's not urban walkable but that's still a respectable pairing for a senior that may not find driving to be safe.KCMax wrote:This is West Gateway, down on Metcalf by the Panera and Chik Fil A.
