Re: KC in TV and Movies
It's a pretty ritzy neighborhood, and they did have a film industry in KC in the 1920s. No reason to believe that it's not a studio movie.

Film Industry?
I thought Film Row in KC was a regional distribution and screening point- not actually anything to do with the making of movies.

Stretch burnt his burnt ends in the competition. But he was having fun. The winner along with the other competitor appear to be fulltime competitors in BBQ competitions.

^Kind of a lame ad. Everything represented in it could be done with other ISPs. Very poorly done.

I agree, but fortunately most people won't realize that and it will still be good PR for KC.earthling wrote:^Kind of a lame ad. Everything represented in it could be done with other ISPs. Very poorly done.

This Budweiser Super Bowl commercial shows the KC skyline at the :33 mark. Though, it's "supposed" to be Chicago.

Re: KC in TV and Movies
Not sure if anyone heard about this Old Milwaukee Ad that only aired in a few locations last night with Will Ferrell but Apparently Jose Canseco did a similar Old Milwaukee ad only in the Kansas City Market during the HR Derby

Re: KC in TV and Movies
Last night's 60 Minutes featured "The Lost Boys of Sudan", refugees from Sudan that fled to the US after civil war. They follow up on one of the refugees 12 years later, who relocated to KC. Nice shot of the KC skyline and some heartwarming stories of locals helping these guys out. Except this part:
http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=50143932nJoseph still hasn't gotten a passport. His driver's license was stolen from him in Kansas City. And that was just the beginning.
Bob Simon: You've had your car flooded.
Joseph Taban Rufino: Right.
Bob Simon: You've been stabbed.
Joseph Taban Rufino: Exactly.
Bob Simon: You've been hit by a car.
Joseph Taban Rufino: That's right.
Bob Simon: Your kitchen was set on fire.
Joseph Taban Rufino: Indeed.
Bob Simon: And you like it here.
Joseph Taban Rufino: You know, things, things happen.

That quote is hilarious, though. You've got to admire his outlook on life.

Re: KC in TV and Movies
KC mentioned twice in this week's TIME mag: in an article about horse racing and an article about upcoming Kahlo show at Nelson.
