Anticipation

The countdown is on for the metro’s first Ross Dress for Less stores.

The Pleasanton, Calif.-based chain said it will open stores on Oct. 6 in Adams Dairy Landing, 1320 N.E. Coronado Drive, Blue Springs, and Independence Commons, 18910 E. 36th St. South, Independence.

Ross also has confirmed a lease for an Olathe store but has not confirmed an address. However, some area real estate sources say the company will open a store at 119th Street and Strang Line Road.

Ross offers “first-quality” in-season, name brand and designer apparel, accessories, and footwear for the entire family, along with home fashions. It says its customers save 20 to 60 percent off department and specialty store regular prices.

The City is currently reviewing a tenant finish permit for Ross Dress for Less where Borders used to be. In addition, the City has had pre-application meetings with prospective developers in Olathe Pointe & the site next to Prairie Life Center at 135th & Greenwood, but no applications have been submitted to date. Finally, we have not heard anything on potential development in Olathe Gateway I or II.
