Re: 2012 CHIEFS!
While I do think the Chiefs are better than their last two preseason games might lead one to believe, I'm thinking somewhere between 7 and 9 wins is probably more reasonable unless this team (read: Matt Cassel) totally overachieves.

What are your predictions? I say 9-7, just miss the playoffs. Broncos win the division at 10-6.

Re: 2012 CHIEFS!
I will make some wacky predictions for no particular reason:
Chiefs go 8-8 and miss the playoffs again.
Packers go 14-2 but miss the Super Bowl after being upset in the NFC championship game by, ohhhh, let's say Atlanta.
Super Bowl is Atlanta and Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh by a field goal.

Chiefs: 6-10, miss the playoffs, and jettison Matt Cassel.

I'm not really bullish on this team but with everyone back from injury it's hard to see them being worse than last year, when they somehow pulled out seven wins.

Based on the pre season, I think we will be lucky if we win as many as 6 games. What did you see in the pre season that you liked?mean wrote:6-10!? Really!? They just don't look that bad, you guys are nuts and/or overly pessimistic.

Likes: Pretty much the entire first string defense. O-line looks decent. Running backs look quite good.
Iffy: Starting QB.
Dislikes: Defensive backups.

Re: 2012 CHIEFS!
Yeah, the backups in the secondary scare me more than anything else. It was disappointing that the linebackers didn't get more pressure on QBs, but RAC didn't really seem to be sending them much.

Re: 2012 CHIEFS!
How much should preseason matter though? I don't think you could look any worse in the preseason than we did last year, and we still managed to win 7 games. The Falcons went 0-4 last season in the preseason, and went to the playoffs. We start over this week. Let's see if Romeo has these guys better prepared than Haley did.AllThingsKC wrote:Based on the pre season, I think we will be lucky if we win as many as 6 games. Re: 2012 CHIEFS!
Atlanta, @Buffalo, @NO, SD, Baltimore, @Tampa is brutal. If they make it to the bye at 3-3, with most of their divisional schedule ahead, they have a chance.
Mike Lombardi was on the BS Report yesterday and said he liked the Chiefs quite a bit.

Re: 2012 CHIEFS!
I'm not judging the Chiefs solely off their pre-season record. It's possible for them to be 4-0 and me still not be happy. What I look for in the pre-season is how the starters do. With the exception of the Arizona game, I am not happy with how the starters played. And, if the pre-season is any indication, Romeo doesn't exactly inspire confidence that he will have this team ready for Week 1. We also have 1 key player suspended and another key player who missed ALL of training camp. Plus, it's not like the Chiefs have an easy schedule. @ Buffalo? @ New Orleans? @ Baltimore? (The last time we played those teams, we got blown out)KCMax wrote: How much should preseason matter though? As of right now, I think we're looking at a down year.
