You were expecting good architecture? It's a casino. Most of the ones in California are a blight on the landscape.chrizow wrote: god, what a joke. it looks like the Hollywood 14 cinema-plex in columbia, missouri.
the goodyear blimp really adds some excitement though.

Re: OFFICIAL: Proposed KCK Casino
The final plan for the Hollywood casino came before the planning commission in September.
I will have to say. I am underwhelmed.
The renderings of the Hollywood Casino look no where near as cool as the renderings for the proposed Hard Rock Casino looked.
I doesn't feel like the current development group's heart is really in this and we a getting shortchanged as a result.
From the renderings presented to the planning commission I think this will look like a turd compared to Argosy. Perhaps that is what Penn National Gaming really wants???????

There is a job fair at Overland Park Convention Center tomorrow (Saturday) to hire 1,000 employees for the casino, which opens in February.

Agreed. It looks like a cheap multiplex theater. But we are talking about a casino after all, not a high-end retailer.KCMax wrote:You're being kind. I think it looks like crap.

It just makes KCK look like most of Oklahoma. I think it is a very standard reservation casino design.mistervinix wrote:Agreed. It looks like a cheap multiplex theater. But we are talking about a casino after all, not a high-end retailer.KCMax wrote:You're being kind. I think it looks like crap.

KCMax, unfortunately you are correct. Let's see how the finished product turns out but I think at this point it's too late.KCMax wrote:You're being kind. I think it looks like crap.

Looks more like a suburban movie theatre than a casino, although the dead vegetation everywhere isn't helping. I'm still bummed the Hard Rock deal didn't happen - at least that would have given the casino a little bit of a WOW factor. But if this casino is owned by the same group that owns the Argosy, I think it'll be top notch inside.

Love the radio ads for this place. They feature disco music, which first as the design looks like its straight out of the 70s.

I can't wait for KC's only Las Vegas style Casino to open! No more needing a Casino card to gain entry to the casino like at the MO pond barge Casinos.

You obviously have your finger on the pulse of the casino industry. Haven't needed a card for 3+ years now.
