A new arena PLUS a new ballpark when coupled with Union Station, the Liberty Memorial, Crown Center, the proposed arts complex and the new Block ccenter CANNOT MISS! Working together these destination attractions will make downtown jump to life. Those who question what the affect will be should go no farther than to look at Denver, Baltimore, Cleveland, Pittsburg, Seattle etc. etc. Finally, by converting the K to a socer complex and Kemper for expanded American Royal use and we will have facilities that most cities won't be able to touch.

In grouping the stadium with the Xroads & CC/Union Station area, wouldn't it be appropriate for the stadium to pay some kind of homage to KC's rail history? You could use the proximity to railroad tracks as a creative opportunity instead of hinderance. With the Wash Square Park location, you could build the stadium over/adajacent to the railyard area somehow and incorporate KC's rail history into the new ballpark. It'd be cool to be able to see the trains below as games go on or have some sort of train whistle go off as part of the game. Or what about a commuter rail station under the ballpark in addition to the central station at Union Station?

Lets just worry about the arena, and KC Live before we even think about a baseball stadium.

I think we're pretty close to saying they're "in the bag."
