Does anyone know what's going on with Tasso's? Is it just a new facade or is there more to it?

I've been wondering that. Looks like they're getting away from the Greek columns look.

The former Persona Day Spa is a futon store. Blah. At least it's tangible retail and not another freaking salon. Seriously, Waldo has half of Kansas City's barber shops and salons.
No really. It does.

I saw quite a collection of fake flowers in vases inside the italian place going in where papa keno's was (gregory and rockhill) - this does not bode well for them....

Went by Marbeck at 95th and Nall today - it was busy. Asked one of the people there why the move. He stated the owner of the Waldo building was trying to sell it and just offered Marbeck a month-to-month lease, to make the building more marketable, when Marbeck's old lease expired.cdm2p wrote: I don't know if somebody already said this but Marbeck is moving. That sucks.
I assumed Marbeck owned the building, it was there for a very long time.
I may be right. I may be wrong. But there is a lot of gray area in-between.

And Mezzaluna is now open. And we have a serial rapist.
Re: Wonderful Waldo
maybe it's another screwed up star headline and you just have a "therapist in waldo" instead of "the rapist in waldo".PumpkinStalker wrote: And Mezzaluna is now open. And we have a serial rapist.

I wish. Not quite as good as The Penis Mightier. (That's the PEN is mightier, Sean...)DaveKCMO wrote: maybe it's another screwed up star headline and you just have a "therapist in waldo" instead of "the rapist in waldo".
Seriously though, both times he made the girl bathe. Hope they catch this sick fuck soon.

Futon store = eeecckk!!
Swagger is "da bomb" for lack of a more creative term. Seriously, for anyone who hasn't been there, just try it! Great neighborhood hole in the wall, that's much nicer than you would expect, very clean inside with an extensive and creative beer list, and a burger I think can't be beat anywhere in KC.....

All of their food is good. Best "bar food" in KC, perhaps? They also have some crazy high-end liquors and such that one would never expect somewhere like this to have.jdubwaldo wrote: Swagger is "da bomb" for lack of a more creative term. I agree with you completely. I absolutely love the Gaf, but this place is neck and neck depending on what we are in the mood for!

Mezzaluna European Restaurant has opened a Waldo location.
Mezzaluna has operated in Lenexa for nearly a dozen years and now has a location at 120 E. Gregory Blvd., formerly home to Papa Keno?s Pizzeria. A grand opening is set for Nov. 12.
This operation concentrates on European cuisine ? chicken Marsala, spinach ravioli with a yellow pepper sauce, vegetarian pizza, and chicken with white wine, butter, lemon juice and capers.

Did anyone see the sign saying Beer and Wine To Go? I wonder if that liqueur permit goes back to Waldo Wine Shop?
Has anyone eaten here yet?

I'm afraid I'll get smothered by all of the fake flowers and plants on my way in. Unless this gets some glowing reviews here, I'm avoiding this place.

Anyone know what is going into the Western Chandelier building? I went by this AM and they are really making some progress on remodeling!
