Thank you Mayor of Waldo for mentioning the Ruben at NY DELI as that would also be my pick!
There used to be a grilled tuna at Chilis, but i think they yanked that item

Wow that is a blast from my childhood. I was about 4 or 5 but I think their tables were like a newspaper print laminate. Those were great hamburgers. Sigh...pabloncito wrote: Pork Tenderloin at Wimpy's R.I.P

If hamburgers aren't counted as sandwiches, then I'm going with Arthur Bryant's brisket.
If hamburgers are counted as sandwiches, a Westport Flea Market burger.

I had the chicken fried steak sandwich at McCoy's today and that has to make my list of top five sandwiches I have ever had.

Pork Tender at River Dogs or the Turkey Burger at The Flea w/ Rings.
Tough choice.
Gotta go with Turkey burger at The Flea - the Rings make it so.

...rings at the river change my vote

Re: Best sandwich in town?
I've been going to D'Bronx a lot more lately since they opened the Mission location and I have to say I find it pretty overrated as far as sandwiches. They're definitely not bad, but I don't see the big fuss. I do like their pizza quite a bit and the sides are nice, and I like the selection, but I just can't get excited about the Napoli or any of the other sandwiches. My wife on the other hand, loves their sandwiches - its probably her favorite sandwich place now.
There's a pretty generic place called Cozy's Cafe at 75th and Metcalf that seems like the most bland place in the world but the owner is this eastern European woman and she serves some really interesting European dishes like cassoulet. Anyway, I was pretty impressed with her muffaletta. I keep hearing great things about the muffaletta at Pandolfi's Deli, so that's a must-try for me.

Haven't had the Rieger's tenderloin yet, but if Grunauer would put their schnitzel on a bun, it would be pretty high on my list. Kobe burger @ bluestem lounge is a pretty damn good call, too.

The Traditional Italian Meatball Sub from Magical Meatball Tour is pretty damn tasty. Really like the Grilled Cheese at Westside Local and the El Pastor Torta from El Camino Real.

Grunauer does have the Schnitzel sandwich with Austrian bacon and swiss cheese for lunch, comes with fries if I remember correctly. Damn good.
