SF Proposal for Naming Sewer after GWB

Post by GuyInLenexa »

This had to be the funniest thing I have heard all week.  I wonder if he or Laura will attend the dedication?
LOL
Sort of softens the new low for the stock market today.

If they really do that, they'll look like total idiots.

To you, I guess. Personally I think it's hilarious. Good luck to them.

They'll only look like total idiots to the middle section of the country.  They don't care what people in the Bible Belt think because they think we're idiots.

I think it's a little less petty than renaming french fries in the Capitol cafeteria "freedom fries".  And a helluva lot more witty.

Not true.  Within an hour of driving across the Bay Bridge, they'll encounter majority GOP voters.  Just look at the map of California:

Not to mention, SF-ers are not exactly viewed as "normal" by a majority of Americans.  This will backfire if implemented.

And those who don't believe in the Rapture, according to certain polls, are also "abnormal" Americans as viewed by the putative majority (which also elected George W. Bush president twice).

This is a good point, MD.  But, what I meant was people in San Francisco could care less about anything red.  Thus, they don't even care about the inner parts of California because "idiot red necks" live there too.

To the coastal cities, if you're even light red, you're a Bible-thumping idiot red neck moron.  The Bay area is full of prideful people who think they know everything.

What they don't realize, is that to the people who are "light red," they look just as stupid and extreme.

I would never consider myself any shade of red or blue and find this to be a bit funny.

No you're not.  You're totally blue when it comes time to vote - you just masquerade around like you're an "independent" - but you vote Democrat, and you'll do it again this NOV.

I will definitely vote Obama in Nov. But eff you for presuming to know how I generally vote.  Not only are you a condescending dick, you're wrong.

I don't consider myself red or blue; I think I would best be described as ultraviolet.  Unfortunately it's only practical to vote within the visible spectrum unless you want to piss your vote away, so blue it is.  That said, I think it's a little childish on SF's part to do this (though much less so than the absurd "freedom fries" thing), but still fairly amusing, and certainly less offensive than the "Obama/Osama" bullshit, which should piss you off in principle regardless of your political affiliations.

Just seemed odd when we discussed this quite some time ago - that a libertarian (as you claim to be) would find anything appealing about Obama's big government platform.

Oh well.
