I don't blame Walmart for acting immorally. I blame the economic system we have that encourages them to do so. And no, I'm not talking about capitalism. I refer to my old nemesis, property taxation.

Wal Mart

Post by Karin »

Wal Mart is a perfect example of socialism in America's retail sector. The company represents mediocrity and is like a cancer invading the country. Consumers need to be more discriminating and avoid frequenting these stores or we may just drive out all the competition and become a nation of Wal Marts!

WalMart Neighborhood Locations

I stopped shopping at WalMart a few years ago because my local WM is dirty, crowded and it always took at least 15 min. to get through the line. But what I've recently learned is that WalMart uses a very heavy hand on suppliers to bring prices lower and lower. This forces suppliers to fire American workers and send jobs overseas. I think this is an anti-American tactic and I can't support it. It also brings down the quality of their products. The last thing I bought from WM was a window box fan. I remember my parents having one that lasted for years and I expected to pay at least $30 for one. When I found one at WM for something like $12, I was shocked the price was so low and bought it. Within 6 months one speed no longer worked and it became so noisy I had to toss it. So their low price also equated low value and cost me more in the long run. I'm sure everything they sell isn't such poor quality but if the price seems too good to be true, it very well may be.
