Looks like flag poles have been errected in front of SC over by the ticket office. Noticed them today as I was walking by. Hadn't noticed them before.

Well I know 3 real valuable team logos that will go on them. The United States, The state of Missouri and Sprint.

I cannot believe they are putting in trees and shrubs in this heat. I have not noticed any irrigation going on since they started putting in the trees weeks ago. They will probably have to replace all the dead landscaping at great expense in the spring.

Re: OFFICIAL - Arena construction
talked to one of the construction workers who is working inside the sprint center and asked him how things were going and if it will be ready for the first show. he said that it has to be ready because they are turning the keys over like the day before the show. he also said that in order to get it finished in time it was his opinion that they would have to work 24/7 from now on to do that.

I was wondering a couple of things about the concourses. Are they still going with the decorative flooring - like KCI? If so, have they started and how long will it take for that to be complete?
It seems like that would have to be the last thing on the agenda just because of the heavy construction foot traffic.

10,000 parking spots in a 5 minute walk according to today's article...and they don't list garages that I know are open for the public's use....like the garage just built on the 13th/Baltimore block.

Re: OFFICIAL - Arena construction
Thing is, even though the arena can seat 18,000... They won't need that many spaces.
Kemper Arena is supplied by about 5,500 spaces. I'd think all Sprint Center would need is the two in P&L and the Town Pavilion garage near 1201 Walnut.
I'd also be willing to say traffic ought to be smoother than Kemper, as it has only two places to leave, the on/off ramps of I-70, and the on/off ramps of 23rd.
Whereas with Sprint Center, you can leave to 670 to the south, drive north to I-70/169, east to I-70/71, west to I-35, north to the bridges, south and east to BRW, east and north to Paseo-I-29, and I'm sure people could come up with more ways..
Also not to mention that people can stay and hang out at P&L, go south and hang out at the Crossroads, go north and hang out at the River Market etc...

I'm glad they decided to go with a neutral color for the seating in the arena bowl. (grey and black)

However that will also make the bowl look smaller because of the dark colors.mykem wrote: I'm glad they decided to go with a neutral color for the seating in the arena bowl. (grey and black)
