Plaza luxury tower plan downsized

A Country Club Plaza-area condominium tower that was narrowly rejected last month has been downsized to fit city guidelines, and the developer plans to begin construction this fall.

Developer George Birt has reduced the number of condominiums in the 12-story building planned for 4646 Broadway from 30 to 23 units. He now believes the tower design meets the zoning requirements of the property and requires nothing more than a city building permit to proceed.
