Rumored presidential candidate

Post by anniewarbucks »

I have heard a rumor that Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelias is in the running for president of the USA in 2008. This will be one wild primary, With Hillary Clinton and Kathleen Sebelias running. I wonder if the Republicans will put up Condoleza Rice? Also I wonder if 2008 will be the year that the US will elect its first Woman president. And the US will have its first Dude showing off the white house.

I've only heard Sebelius' name mentioned as a possible Vice Presidential candidate.

Sebelius would be a very long shot. She has been rumored yes, but I rather doubt she will run. She may be tabbed as a VP nominee.

She needs to be Barack's VP candidate, if Barack was to run that is.

At this point, I'm guessing everyone in the Democratic Party considers themself a Presidential candidate.

i also read online that hillary might not even run in '08. she's got a nice comfy senate seat that she can have as long as she likes and could possibly do more than if she were the prez.

The democrats i'd consider voting for would be Obama and Lieberman. The republican I'd definitely vote for would be Rudy Guiliani.

the same kind of long shot as clinton was in '92? she's spotless and a proven uniter. granted, she'll probably get stuck in a sidecar with obama, but i think she could do it alone.

Those are all over the map politically - I guess Devin is symbolic of how image oriented American Politics have devolved.

Obama needs to serve as governor before he even considers running for president. Cutting your teeth on the Senate floor doesn't lend enough experience to lead a country or balance a budget.

Put him as a vice presidential candidate, and I'd vote for him. However, don't be mislead - people will vote for him and the likes of Hillary because she's "a woman who's not afraid to speak out" and Obama is a "well-spoken black man". Most don't even care for the content of their message.

It's hogwash that people still lean on stereotypes and image to drive where they put their vote, but it's the truth of the matter.

I would never vote for Hillary, that'd be the same as voting for Ted Kennedy for president, except for the fact he is afraid of "The curse"...

Really I'm just impressed by Obama and his willingness (at least so far in statement) to compromise and give ground. He is willing to compromise and find common ground.
Lieberman because it takes a lot of balls to do what he did, especially since it could have meant that he'd be kicked out of the democratic party. He showed he isn't completely married to party ties.

Guiliani because he is a leader and I believe his past before he was mayor of NYC was irrelevant.

I vote Deepak Chopra. Unfortunately this country isn't quite ready for that. Maybe in another century?  :)

even as mayor of NYC not many people really liked rudy..but then again..something like 9/11 makes you forget all that....just look up the history of george steinbrenner...he was once pretty easily the most hated man in new england.

hillary would be the biggest joke ever...sadly i can see her winning, because she pulls that martha stewart bull and makes a nice image...for an old hag...ewww...somebody get arnold schwarzenager for cryin out loud..at least he is a decent politician...hillary is still all into herself and her money...the whole damn pile of it...

No shot.  Nope. Hillary is a non-starter in terms of Prez talks.  In a war-heightened time, there's no way Americans are going to trust a female to serve as Commander-in-Chief.

Esp. when you're dealing with an unstable Muslim enemy.  That's just inviting scorn, if not worse.

The Governator doesn't even meet the qualifications to become a president in the United States.
