Re: Clay Chastain coming back with light rail
ok now a few real questions...
How much money did this just "approve"?
(cause thats one hell of a long line...)
I've now edumacated myself..and so the city if approved...still can do whatever they want with the route of the line...but what about type..is it stuck that it has to be old style LRT..or can it be a crossover system between heavy and light or gondola or our old cable car system...or whatever? jw..
And about the whole gondola thing..what the hell is that...is it even connected to the rest of the citys proposed route..cause im seeing it as an individual little fun type thing...and does the city even have to give two shits about chastains plan ..or can they do ANYTHING (route and type wise) with the money they might get for the project? (meaning we will be spared the gondola bullshit) Thanks.
p.s (admins...the usage of the foul language above was needed...its the only thing to describe the gondola idea...unless some private third party forks all the cash for it..then its a "wonderful" "idea""

And if you have time, actually write a letter. Those get read a lot more than e-mails do.ShowMeKC wrote: Also send emails in mass to the Star, and all TV stations.

no doubt, that will only help too. good idea. lets get a tally of how many letters and emails we send, it would be neat to see the power of our numbers.

Thanks.

Re: Clay Chastain coming back with light rail
Premade e-mails wont do any good, when people start getting duplicate e-mails from different senders you loose the effect.
Re: Clay Chastain coming back with light rail
Maybe there is a real shift going on in KC's mood towards our transportation system. Who knows, maybe it will even go beyond transit--heaven forbid!--to bike & ped.KCPowercat wrote: should make for an interesting debate next week with all the mayoral canidates at the library.
It's also going to create a really interesting political situation (please pass the popcorn . . . ).

Re: Clay Chastain coming back with light rail
Anyone watch Ruckus last week? Mike Shanin's knock on Chastain was pretty immature. They are supposedly having a "live" version of Ruckus this Thursday somewhere in JoCo, with audience questions taken. Might be fun to "roast" Mike in person.
I love it. Nothing like a totally unexpected win, and a sign of some actual progressive thinking in Kansas City.
