WHAT IF ON STADIUM QUESTIONS???
I was wondering, what happens if one question passes and the other dosent? Would the chiefs be willing to go along with the renovations if question 1 (renovations) passes and question 2 (roof) dosent? And what would happen if question 2 (roof) passes and question 1 (renovations) fails?

question 2 can pass only if question 1 passes. there won't be a scenario of just the roof passing. if only question 1 is passed and not 2, then we just give a few hundred truck loads of cash to the owners. instead of the one truckload they really need.

Yes, the Chiefs and the Royals will proceed with the rehabs if only #1 passes and #2 fails.
I may be right. I may be wrong. But there is a lot of gray area in-between.

The funny thing is that if the roof fails...the publicity and the propaganda the Star has generated will be completely worthless. No Final Four, No Super Bowl...But we will still be paying $1 B in renovations to 30 year-old stadiums.Jhawkman02 wrote: I was wondering, what happens if one question passes and the other dosent? Kietz made a good point yesterday - that the roof makes the renovation project seem like a bargain. So people may say to themselves "I'm not paying for that ridiculous roof....but compared to the roof, the renovations are a deal." Maybe a smart move by the SOS group.

I bet the Chiefs and Royals find a way to do the roof if it doesn't pass and Q1 does. Or at least the Chiefs.

Or they'll have another election, to push it though.

Re: WHAT IF ON STADIUM QUESTIONS???
Let me see if I have this correct: If Question 1 passes, and Question 2 fails, both teams are still "locked" into their new leases, right? (Sine there will be renovations)
I am sure that the Chiefs will try to find another way of getting a roof so that they can host a Super Bowl. After all, we do have 9 years before then.
Oh, and if Question 1 fails, but Question 2 passes....the whole vote is worthless, right?

If that doesn't work, do you think they will try naming rights? I hope not, because I like the name "Arrowhead Stadium" over "PetCo park," or "KY Liquid Gel Stadium" or something else just as stupid!bahua wrote: Or they'll have another election, to push it though.

I don't think you can get enough naming rights to fund the roof unless the team puts a lot of their own money in. Its possible. Naming rights typically raise about $50-60 million I believe.

I don't know. Nine years present a lot of opportunities.AllThingsKC wrote: If that doesn't work, do you think they will try naming rights? I hope not, because I like the name "Arrowhead Stadium" over "PetCo park," or "KY Liquid Gel Stadium" or something else just as stupid!
