What's up with the building to the northwest of this intersection?  It's the red building across from the new HOK building.  It's been promoted as sports bar/restaurant/loft space for years.  I think 2006 will be the fourth year they've updated the sign that says "opening in 2005."

i think the current state of the exhibition business would prevent AMC from laying out the capital for a fancy, new headquarters building (even though they just merged with loews). just a guess, but with the statements being made by some of the studio execs (simultaneous release dates for theater/cable/video/internet), we can probably expect movie theaters to play a smaller, more ancillary role in the future of distribution. don't get me wrong, i'm a big fan of the movie-going experience, but i think consumer choice and convenience will win in the long run.
