Collison is way too close to collision, that was temporarily alarming.

Love the rainbow, as well as the prior Royals, Chiefs, and Open Spaces wraps!

I was previously of the mindset that the silver and white livery was a little too plain, but it does provide a really nice base for these seasonal/occasional wraps, which are a lot of fun.

You say "plain", we say "timeless"!

Is it just me, or does the pride wrap evoke MARTA?

Also, just figured I'd preempt the "BUT I THOUGHT IT WAS A STRAIGHTCAR! LULZ" jokes. It's not that funny (ok, it's a little funny).

805 officially out testing last night from 12a-4a. Same this evening I believe (Thursday night/Friday morning). Video on twitter suggested it was doing some high speed runs between Union Station and 20th. Quite a sight!

Why are the turn lanes along the line turning into parking spaces for delivery vehicles? I counted 9 vehicles on one drive through today, one a police car with a policeman coming out of Cosentinos with a sandwich box.

Yeah, it's really rampant and super annoying, but I guess it beats blocking the streetcar, which is only slightly less rampant and even more annoying.

Code says it's illegal

70-521.b
Along a streetcar service line, no person shall stop, park or leave standing any vehicle, whether attended or unattended, occupying space within four feet of the near edge of any streetcar track rail, except where such a vehicle is within a signed and white striped parking area.

I see an awful lot of other illegal stuff happen every day, too. If only things being illegal actually stopped people from doing them! Gosh, what a world that would be.

I kind of wonder if it's

cheaper to pour concrete and completely block parking
vs
the cost to drill a hole, buy a sign, place a sign and then hire someone to ticket people who ignore the sign.
vs
flex bollard placement and replacement

because code has a 20 foot from corner rule that's widely ignored. in the same sense there doesn't need to be a center turn lane where there's no curb cuts.

A car is across the white line and it will probably get ticketed and towed in 10 minutes. Make it happen a few days for the turn lanes and it will end real quick.

We can’t ticket a UPS truck?

To their credit, a UPS truck would move quicker than a tow truck could get there. You can’t say the same about a private vehicle.

If the vehicles become enough of a problem it blocks garage access and thus the train that’s when to throw a fit.

At that point a personal visit or call to someone with VP in their title from someone high up in the city will get way more movement than towing a vehicle.

I would put this in the list of things our code really doesn’t account for. Clearly a car parking down the middle of the street is a problem. But a delivery vehicle dropping off food? Not at all.

Ok, carry on. I’ve also seen people park cars there when picking up takeout orders but can’t blame them too much if there are several other vehicles already there. I suppose it’s just part of being a city. Still don’t like it.
