Do you think they will be the same color scheme, or do you think there will ever be another color scheme incorporated?

Personally, I don't see value in a bunch of colors. Doing different color by line means it's hard to share trains. It also has a branding and visibility aspect of all trains being white. People can search the street, see a large white object with two lights and know what it is.

Imagine a hypothetical where we build electric commuter rail so it can share the same tracks down Linwood. The streetcar can be white and commuter rail can be gray. A rider will know to look at all white trains to go to the plaza and all grey trains to get to Lee's Summit

Use wraps to add temporary color if anything.

For sure, I'm going to state my ignorance up front here. I know Cincinnati had options that they didn't use, and we couldn't pick them up either. It just seems inefficient to have three buys (current +2, riverfront, south) all as separate orders when I don't think too many other cities are ordering this block. If we could keep that line moving, it seems we could cut down on time and money.

[edit]

I guess the better scenario would be to do riverfront and south together as a group buy once financing comes together for both. I was just looking for people that know more than me. :) No criticism.

The people that 100% know aren't talking, and rightfully so.

Which seems weird to me. It's my money :) I think this is going to the council tomorrow. I hope we'll hear more.

I like the classiness of the black and white colour scheme, and it is iconic. The times that I've seen some color added via smaller wraps, I've really liked it. It's not necessary I guess, I just think it could represent the vibrancy of the area it serves. But, I will admit that they look really sleek.

KC Streetcar recieves approval for 2 additional cars. This is amazing news for such a young system and a true testament that smart city planning will spur development and increase revenue for the city. Next up -- extending the line!

"The purchase will use existing downtown Transportation Development District, or TDD, funds, resulting from higher than anticipated sales tax growth within the district and stabilized operations expenses...The purchase will use existing downtown Transportation Development District, or TDD, funds, resulting from higher than anticipated sales tax growth within the district and stabilized operations expenses....Since opening day, nearly 2,400,000 streetcar rides have been completed with daily average ridership at 5,700. This exceeds initial ridership forecasts of 2,700."

Heather Hall was the lone "no" vote, despite the funding coming from excess TDD revenue.

I've seen her in the government channel and she wants streetcar to fail SO bad! Absolutely hates that ridership is not dismal.

Great news on many levels. Would also be interesting to see revenue changes of businesses along the line.

that's already reflected in the TDD sales tax growth from 2014 to 2016 (58%).

And for comparison, the rest of the city (outside of the TDD) had something like 16% growth.

the slide the city didn't show indicates that citizen satisfaction survey respondents who had ridden the streetcar had a more positive opinion about it. in other words, the conversion rate is high.
