Yes, Cincy has had the exact same issues, while cities NOT using the US-built CAF vehicle are not. So there you have it.
Have there been discussions with CAF about this for future orders?

It's been reported. I think they're waiting on a part.

Was riding the other day and still amazed at how clean the streetcars keep. Sure there’s scuffs here and there, but they keep them cleaned up so well.

Good to hear. It seems like the door itself may need replacement as it would only open part of the way part of the time

Have noticed the streetcar hits more green lights lately. I may have missed earlier in thread but did they improve traffic signal control or coincidental?

Dave mentioned better coordination with signals when they announced improved headways last month.

Does appear to improve travel time for the longer stretches.

Yes, we're killing it IMO in mixed traffic operations. It helps that Main Street isn't that congested most of the time, allowing us to speed up during those periods. Saturdays and event nights will continue to be a challenge.

It has gotten significantly better. My one complaint still is when a streetcar stops, gets boarded, and then moves a few feet to a light turning red.

But things have improved significantly, so credit to everyone working on it.

Public Works refuses to budge on full-scale "pre-emption" (always green), reserving that for emergency vehicles (who, coincidentally, don't use the systems PW has installed for them anyway, preferring to blow through intersections without signal changes).

Things will undoubtedly get more serious when we have to maintain on-time performance over 6-7 miles.

Could citizens do anything to change their mind? Pester the council?

Ask for data and then if that goes nowhere file sunshine requests for information on the system.

I figure asking for any documents around official policies for streetcar traffic prioritization and what the current settings are for each signal the train passes by could be targeted enough.

Then you go to the council with data. It’s not pestering if it could be shown PW is violating a policy or be used to backup a claim for a need for changes because there’s a need for a better standard.

And if they refuse or ignore, that’s useful as a starting point. It’s a stronger argument in your favor if you aren’t getting a response.
