How about the new buck / Broadway bridge named MLK bridge. I like that idea.

I'm afraid my time here is short.

So when can groundbreaking be expected? I remember some pretty ambitious goals for getting the new terminal into operation.

teardown is supposed to be this fall.

Anyone have pictures of the International gates that were recently remodeled? Are those gates open yet or do they open when Iceland Air takes off next week?

The goal is this fall. They did say things could get pushed back a little because of the gate increase.

No. Please No. This is bad for so many different reasons. From naming it after a man who isn't from here to making it harder to attract new(especially overseas) airlines and pax, this is a bad choice.

They are only recommending naming the new terminal, not the airport...it's still a bad idea

Bob Hope Airport
Ted Stevens Airport
Ronald Reagan Airport
General Mitchell Airport
Logan Airport
Hobby Airport

They still use the city name on the tv monitors in the airport

John Wayne Airport- OKC?
Bob Hope Airport
Ted Stevens Airport- Somewhere in Alaska based on the guy
Ronald Reagan Airport- Washington DC (they use the name to keep it unique from the other airport)
General Mitchell Airport
Logan Airport- It's international. Nashville?
Hobby Airport- Houston (they use both names to keep it separate from the other one, Bush Intl?)

I checked after I answered. I actually flew into one that I got wrong...

OKC actually has one named after a guy but its Will Rogers

This airport name change to MLK makes no sense though because he not from here, never really visited KC and the common theme in funky named airports is that all those people have made an impact in those cities.
