No, that was submitted to New Starts for funding

I assume the riverfront streetcar was not selected this round.

Main street extension is seeking a different grant program (New Starts) and we're expecting the initial scoring very soon. We need a "medium" or above to advance.

Is there any renderings or final alignment plans for the new bridge or has nothing been decided?

At least there will be some nice new unobstructed driving views from it. The south end will still have to be very elevated like the current bridge and then the new ramps connecting to the freeway on the bluffs. I imagine there will be not pedestrian considerations?

There MUST be pedestrian/bike access. It's part of the city's requirements and they're bringing local (GO Bond) money to the project.

I had heard a “phase 2” is to kick off in 2019.

I guess I did have that on my calendar. Do we have any idea what that being will involve?

Please take and share the following survey. On the written comment section, mention a desire for both a new bridge and the removal of the North Loop. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/BUCKONEIL

Sounds like we need to be writing to KCK about the north loop part.

Anybody know if bringing 9 highway down to grade can be separated from the north loop decision? That seemed like something everybody was into but not sure it can be done without some substantial work on the interchange over 70.

It looks like it depends on the the slope they'll build.

It's ~0.15 of a mile from the start of the earth portion north of I-70 to 5th. That might be enough to drop to street level.

Sort of. They're related, obviously, but can be done as independent projects. The approach for MO-9 depends on the decision for the North Loop.

Modot is ridiculous. City should take their ineptitude to court

What if we used the steam boat legacy fund to build a steam boat inspired bridge? As a bonus, Steam Boat Arabia could move in under the new bridge.
