Yes

These lighter, new bikes in high-visibility “Mobank orange” feature front and rear integrated lights, an all-weather saddle, three-speed shifting, comfort and control for riders of all sizes, hardcase all-weather tires, internal cable routing and drivetrain. A total of 80 of the 2.0 bikes will hit the streets, starting this summer, with Mobank’s generous support.

Nice. Any word on new bike station locations other than the 3 North KC ones? The article mentions 10-15 new stations this year.

Those new bikes are MUCH better. KC's existing bikes look sort of ridiculous and are very heavy. I use these systems all across the country and those new bikes are much more like what you find in larger more popular systems. I hope KC's system is doing well.

Do you complain in those other cities when you have the bikes out all day and get charged more money like you did when you came back and used kc's??

I do like the colors better... May try one or today and see how they ride. I don't like the 1.5 version bike that has the short front basket... The balance feels of on those

I recall chalking that up as a learning experience. Wasn't a big deal. I'm just saying I like the new bikes much better. Wasn't a fan of the original bikes.

Lol just effing with you.

Unfortunately they aren't replacing the old bikes...just adding to inventory.

Having both options is not a bad idea in case you need the basket for something. The stations just won't look at sleek with one bike style.

the old silver bikes have both basket styles....I like the new orange basket style but haven't hauled anything in them yet.

The North KC stations show up on system map, 14 docks for downtown station...
https://kc.bcycle.com/station-map

Bcycle should target the apartment complexes just to North to sponsor a couple more stations. Good selling point. Does lBcycle even have a local sales staff that targets places/orgs to sponsor stations or do they just hope that some step up?

More Stations on the Way in 2017
Later this year we will be adding another eight stations south of the river in areas like River Market, Midtown, West 39th, UMKC, and the South Plaza. Stay tuned for more details as we grow from 30 to 41 stations by the end of 2017.
And another 40 new 2.0 orange bikes, so 80 total new bikes.

Lacking areas that could use stations: 3 or 4 along Amour (Main, Gilham, Troost, Broadway though closer to Valentine), W end River Market streetcar stop, 39th/Bell, Westport Rd (Roanoke and State Line), Linwood/Main.

^Hopefully considered obvious locations. Lots of infill would be nice if companies and apt building owners would step up and sponsor their own stations.

Impressive expansion so far. It looks like KC had gained a lot of ground here. This combined with the streetcar has been a pretty dramatic improvement. The biggest thing that KC has to do still seems to be the actual on/off street infrastructure of dedicated bike lanes along most major corridors and through park areas and river levees. Is there a plan to implement such infrastructure in the works? I'm sure such a system in urban kcmo would cost 20-30 million to build, but I would think with all the new residential construction going on, people would be demanding it by now.
