Search for cheapest gas in your area
This is one of the most helpful things I have ever come across. Just plug in your zip code and it will tell you where the cheapest gas is.

I've long come to the conclusion that unless the cheapest gas tation is absolutely on your route, you're better off just going for convenience. The extra cost of the gas it takes you to drive out of your way and especially your time (which is money) generally are not covered by the, at best, few cents per gallon savings.

If I go an extra half mile I get 12 cents off per gallon.

Interesting. In my area, it doesn't include ARCO, which is always $ .20 cheaper. alaskan oil rocks.

It's actually a nationwide thing. Just click and drag the map or type in a ZIP code or state.

For some people, it is obviously worth the trouble. And it depends on how much you drive. Many people spend all day driving around, as part of their business, so it could make a huge difference.LindseyLohan wrote:

Doesn't look like they include Costco.

Re: Search for cheapest gas in your area
actually its kinda stupid. I live 4 blocks away from work, i used to walk, ride bike, etc. then i was promoted, gave me a company car and spend my days wandering around the metro burning up somebody elses money on gas. defeats the purpose of living close to the office now, since i spend most my time in JOCO.
but still, i would avoid the necessity to use gas at all costs. i fear the day i would be forced to move to the burbs and need to fill up twice a week on my own dime...
however, they 12 cents a gallon wouldnt go a long way for me with the cost of a tank at $50-60
