Should I shave my beard?

I have a beard, it is pretty big. My girlfriend doesn't mind it, and I think she prefers I have it so I don't make her feel so old with my baby face. Thing is, it itches, and it looks sloppy, but I personally like it. Sometimes I walk around in my old dirty clothes and pretend like I am homeless.

Anyway should I shave it off?

I do the beard thing every winter. I like it a lot, mostly because it's so much easier than shaving. But it is a pain in the ass to wake up in the middle of the night, and spend the better part of a minute wiping slobber out of my beard. Another gross thing that is nice about shaving off your beard is the simple joy of being able to blow your nose in mere seconds.

I have a goatee type thing that I keep trimmed pretty short most of the time, but for some reason dead facial skin accumulates in it above my upper lip. Distressing.

Well I shaved it, the itching thing was too much to bear. Anyway, here is another photo of me with a goofy look on my face.

Now I need a haircut, but I don't want to pay those money grubbing barbers a dime, so should I shave my head too?

Chuck Norris would not have gotten as far as he has without a beard. For those reasons, I highly recommend growing your beard out again.
