Proposed Soccer Stadium in St. Louis and State Tax Credits

Postby aknowledgeableperson » Mon Dec 19, 2016 8:09 pm

Missouri governor elect Eric Greitens has come out against state tax credits for a soccer stadium in St. Louis.

"I'm opposed to spending taxpayer money to build a soccer stadium in St. Louis. This project is nothing more than welfare for millionaires. Right now, because of reckless spending by career politicians, we can't even afford the core functions of government, let alone spend millions on soccer stadiums. This type of back-room wheeling and dealing is exactly what frustrates Missourians. It's politics as usual, and it ends now."

Wonder what his influence will have on the overall use of tax credits for other projects around the state.

Sounds like a State-wide version of Funkhouser.

this isnt even close to the real "back room dealing" that occurs.
