Time magazine had an interesting article on the shopping center topic a few weeks ago about dying malls. The guy who envisioned the modern mall in the 50's thought of it as more of a community instead of just a place to shop.

Might not be the same article, but I seem to remember reading the goal was to include residential where the large parking lots were put, to treat the mall and public space as a modern downtown.aknowledgeableperson wrote:Time magazine had an interesting article on the shopping center topic a few weeks ago about dying malls.
