I found this site called Skyscraper Defense that I thought was interesting, and would share.

It is tragic that most skyscraper disasters are due to errant aircraft. Don't the pilots know where the buildings are and how to control their planes? Cool intro on this site though.

In the mid sixties a small plane struck the old SW Bell building at 11th and Oak in a winter fog.

I would love to see how the pilots passed their FAA Flying test.

My dad and I drove by the building a few minutes following the crash.  Body parts on the sidewalk.  It's more of a sensory memory than visual.

Does anyone know if the plane was "stuck" into the facade of the building after crashing?  I don't remember a significant amount of debris at ground level.

The plane bounced off and landed in something of an alley or parking lot.  It was crumpled.  I saw the wreckage of the plane at Fairfax airport a few day later. There was blood visible and some child's effects in the wreckage, a stuffed animal, Golden Book, etc.

Ironic, isn't it, that not a single reply to this thread was posted on September 11th?

Another interesting set of design ideas I found relating to skyscraper safety and evacuation.
