No. The water main break seems to be fixed. So, we can stop drinking out of the Missouri River, and start using it for raw sewage again!kcdcchef wrote: so no need to use the river????

No, that's the source of KC's water. I'm wondering how they get the water pressure downtown.kcdcchef wrote: it is that long brown wide thing that flows under the hoa and paseo bridges. kind of deep and smelly too.

gladstoner, again, thank you for your continued interception of sarcasm and humor. it is as always, appreciated. i know the water does NOT COME DIRECTLY OUT OF THE FUCKEN RIVer.
and yes, we can stop drinking out of it and let it go back to its primary function

Re: Hey give me back my water
it comes out of the river to the water plant at the end of burlington by water works park. it is then pumped back across the river thru tunnels under the river to everyone south.kcdcchef wrote: gladstoner, again, thank you for your continued interception of sarcasm and humor. it is as always, appreciated. i know the water does NOT COME DIRECTLY OUT OF THE FUCKEN RIVer.

while our water in k.c. does not come directly from the river, it does comes from the river. it just makes a pit stop to get the feces cleaned out first.
not as bad as it sounds. most of our piss and poo flows down to st. louis where it is used by anheuser-busch to make beer.
btw, gladstone has it's very own water plant and does not buy water from k.c. i have to filter my drinking water here in gladstone because they put so much chlorine in it. turn on the tap and it smells just like a swimming pool. they are very big on telling us how good and safe our water is. they send out quarterly reports to all the residents in gladstone telling you what the numbers were for the last quarter.

Re: Hey give me back my water
Yeah. That report is quite a laundry list of heavy metals and organic compounds present in the water, though at "acceptable" levels. That's what you get when they pump out groundwater that has passed through coal beds and black shales that are sinks for things like uranium and arsenic, not to mention runoff from Smitty's transmission shop. At least they filter out most of that crap, or so I assume. The good thing is that after several years, you don't notice the funky taste anymore.Beermo wrote: btw, gladstone has it's very own water plant and does not buy water from k.c. i have to filter my drinking water here in gladstone because they put so much chlorine in it. turn on the tap and it smells just like a swimming pool. they are very big on telling us how good and safe our water is. they send out quarterly reports to all the residents in gladstone telling you what the numbers were for the last quarter.

i don't bother with filtering it for iced tea or ice, just my regular drinking water jug i keep in the fridge.Gladstoner wrote: Yeah.
