Real Estate Listings of Interest (Metrowide)

Post by FangKC »

This thread is for the purpose of pointing out houses that have come on the market in the Metro that someone on this forum might be interested in.

It can range from fixer-uppers to mansions. I know that many on the forum are interested in being urban pioneers and help neighborhoods recover, so cheap buys and fixer-uppers are encouraged.

Everyone is welcome to post links to real estate ads they see in their neighborhoods that have just come on the market, their own houses, or ones belonging to friends and family.

This is an incredible buy for someone wanting to fix up a house. It appears sound, but needs updates.  Three blocks from Martini Corner, four blocks from Costco. Three blocks west of Troost. How many big houses can one find at this low a price in Hyde Park west of Troost?

i love midtown KC!

http://www.reeceandnichols.com/homes-fo ... t-68522936 - large house, appears to be in very solid shape, for an amazing price.
http://www.reeceandnichols.com/homes-fo ... t-66225548 - ditto.

http://www.reeceandnichols.com/homes-fo ... t-70340842 - classic KC shirtwaist. totally renovated and in a great area (longfellow) with functional 2-car garage. maybe a bit aggressively priced but it looks great!

http://www.reeceandnichols.com/homes-fo ... t-68448938 - already has an offer on it, but for $70K for a renovated house on a great block in south hyde park is a steal.

http://www.reeceandnichols.com/homes-fo ... t-70337219 - obviously this needs to be completely redone, but this is a large house in a great area with a lot of rehabbed houses nearby. with $100K of work it would be a $200K house.

http://www.reeceandnichols.com/homes-fo ... t-61143179 - great opportunity for a westside home.

This one on Jefferson leans, so i don't know if it needs to be reframed or the foundation is messed up. That one has been on the market for a couple years now.

Lots back on the market at Mission Cliffs! Your opportunity to have a new house in midtown, with your very own information superhighway, courtesy of Google.

I'm not sure what the situation is as far as identifying a builder or whether you'd have to build one of the existing models or just one that fits the community standards.

I think this property would be a really cool place to open another You Say Tomato type of place or a place like the Local Pig. The neighborhood in this area is really solid, lots of hipsters moving in and lots of good renters in the immediate vicinity.

This place is AMAZING. So decadent! Most of the original interior details left. Needs some work...horrible kitchen.

Classic Kansas City "boulevard architecture". Great location.

I'm always amazed at how cheap real estate is in KC. Such great housing stock for a really low price.

Wow, that one bathroom in 425 Gladstone looks like an original bathroom from when the house was built.

I will never understand the compulsion to cut pass-through windows between the kitchen and dining room when the door is 2' away.

Yeah it does. I don't really like the brackets on the sink, although they do look original.

Funny how they photographed it with the space heater next to the old radiator. Guess that system needs to be updated/replaced. That would be expensive as hell I bet.

Their carriage house is so cool!

So what is that neighborhood like for the housing prices to be in that range? We are thinking of purchasing a home in Westheight in KCK and are wondering how comparable the neighborhoods are.
