downtown resident survey 2010

Post by KCPowercat »

this just hit my inbox.  Downtown residents only survey for the downtown council to judge opinion of those living downtown.

I received that as well. I work in their defined downtown area, but don't live there - I live in midtown. I don't think they're really wanting my opinion.
If it doesn't have street-level retail, it's an abortion.

FYI:  Cosentino's Market and AMC Mainstreet were both developed as direct result of data compiled from Downtown Council residential surveys taken between 2000-2004.

What do we want next?

I would still like a bookstore, office supply/electronics, more clothing, and fast food/quick/cheap options.

they don't have anyway to prevent non-residents from taking the survey...

what about more residents? isn't that the #1 thing downtown needs more of? there is still a depressing, empty vibe coming north into downtown from midtown.

...and the amenities need to be clustered together (i.e. bank, retail, retail, restaurant, service, restaurant, retail).

I would love these things as well, especially the first three.  But with that being said, are there enough people in the area to support such things?  I think there might be if those who live on the east and west side are considered potential customers.
